Accessibility

At Warden Hill Wolves Cubs, we are committed to making Scouting accessible, enjoyable, and supportive for every child, including those with additional needs. Our leaders, Bee and Henry, bring extensive experience in education, SEN support, and inclusive Scouting, so you can feel confident that your child is in safe, capable hands.

We recognise that every child is unique, which is why our programme is flexible and tailored to the needs, abilities, and interests of each Cub. Activities, badges, and adventures can be adapted where necessary to ensure that every child can participate fully, build confidence, and have fun at their own pace.

We understand that joining a new group or getting into the routine of attending sessions can present its own challenges. To support this, we have created a Social Story that can be downloaded and used to support this process.

How we support YOUR child

Warden Hill Wolves Scout Logo

At Warden Hill Wolves Cubs, our leaders bring a unique combination of experience in Scouting and specialist knowledge of supporting children with additional needs. Henry has been involved in Scouting since he was 7 and has over five years’ experience as a Cub Scout Leader, while Bee holds a degree in Education with Inclusion Studies and has worked in SEN and mainstream schools, adult social care, and charitable organisations. This means we are well-equipped to lead an inclusive, engaging, and safe Cub Scout programme that meets the needs of every child.

We adapt sessions to meet individual needs, whether that’s providing extra guidance, using sensory-friendly approaches, or offering one-to-one support where appropriate. Our aim is to create a space where every child, regardless of disability, learning difference, or support requirements, can fully participate and feel included.

We celebrate each Cub’s achievements through badges and activities, ensuring they can enjoy Scouting at their own pace while gaining confidence and pride in their progress.

We also maintain open communication with parents and carers, listening carefully to understand each child’s needs and tailoring support accordingly. This collaborative approach allows us to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where every Cub can thrive.
